Rasul Rahimov, Anatolia’s correspondent for the Regional Office for Asia and the Caucasus, won the prize for the most beautiful photo in the “War of the Fatherland – Faces of Victory” competition in Azerbaijan.

The competition is organized by a number of Azerbaijani institutions, most notably Heydar Aliyev (Former President of Azerbaijan) Cultural Center and the Association of Azerbaijan Photographers.
Rahimov’s photo “Fear, Love, and Parting” took first place in the competition, which was held at the Heydar Aliyev Center in the capital, Baku.
The photo tells the story of an Azerbaijani soldier bidding farewell to his children before heading to the front during the war to liberate the Karabakh region from the Armenian occupation.
