Ankara.. Erdogan chairs a meeting to discuss forest fires

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday chaired a meeting to discuss the developments of forest fires at the State Information Coordination Center of the Presidential Complex in the capital, Ankara.

It was reported that Erdogan had received information from relevant officials about the latest developments in the Turkish regions that are witnessing forest fires.

The meeting was attended by Vice President Fuat Oktay, Special Secretary of the Presidency of the Republic, Hasan Dogan, and Metin Keratli, Head of Administrative Affairs at the Turkish Presidency.

Forest fires broke out in several states in southern and southwestern Turkey, including Antalya, Adana, Mugla, Mersin, and Osmaniye, which President Erdogan declared “disaster areas.”

The death toll from the fires that broke out in recent days reached 6 deaths and dozens of injuries as of Saturday afternoon, while the relevant authorities were able to extinguish most of them.
