Lithium obtained from boron waste for the first time in the world passed the high current test required for batteries.
Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Donmes announced that 99.5 percent of pure lithium has been tested by Aspilsan in battery cells.
He explained that for the first time in the world lithium obtained from boron waste had passed the high current test required for batteries.

Minister Donmes indicated that the Turkish boron ore will activate high-tech products.
“We will use lithium that we produce at Kerka facilities in storage areas for our local TOGG vehicle, mobile devices, tablets and smart technologies.”
In the first stage, 10 tons of annual production will be produced
Minister Donmes said that when the foundation is laid for the lithium production plant it is planned to produce 10 tons of annual production in the first place.
He explained that when the facility starts operating at full capacity, it will meet half of Turkey’s annual lithium production needs.
