Seven people were killed on Saturday in two separate avalanches in the “Savoy” region, west of the French Alps.
The American Associated Press quoted local authorities as saying that “the avalanche occurred at noon at the Valwar ski resort.”
As a result, 4 hikers, between the ages of 42 and 76, were killed.

The authorities added that “3 other people were killed in a second avalanche this afternoon in the Mont Bouri region.”
Authorities in the “Savoie” region, bordering Italy, urged hikers and skiers to exercise extreme caution.
Saying that “the current mild weather after heavy snowfall last week tends to cause avalanches.”
