Head of the Turkish Presidency’s Communications Department, Fahrettin Altun, said that relations between Ankara and Washington would bring peace, security and prosperity to the region and the world when they are within the framework of respecting the concept of alliance and strategic partnership.

This came during his participation on Friday via a video message in the “Turkish Day March” activities held by the Turkish House Communications Department in New York City, USA.

Altun added that the roots of Turkish-American relations go back many years.

He stressed that the regional and international challenges facing the world at the present time show the importance of cooperation and dialogue between Ankara and Washington.

On the Palestinian level, Altun confirmed Turkey’s position demanding an end to the ongoing Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip since last October.

He stressed Ankara’s mobilization of all diplomatic and humanitarian means and efforts to ensure an end to the ongoing war in Gaza.

He continued: Turkey continues its diplomatic initiatives with the aim of reaching a solution that ends the humanitarian tragedy caused by Israel in Gaza.

He pointed out that the files awaiting Turkish-American cooperation are not limited to regional issues only, but also extend to international issues.

He added: We still adhere to our belief in the ability of Turkish-American relations to bring peace, security and prosperity to the region and the world when they are within the framework of respect for the concept of alliance and strategic partnership.

He stressed that “Turkey has a perspective and vision focused on finding comprehensive and lasting solutions to every crisis, whether at the local or international level, especially with regard to irregular migration, refugees, and combating terrorism.”

The head of the Turkish Presidency’s Communications Department stated that one of Ankara’s simplest expectations from its allies is to cut off support for terrorist organizations.

It is noteworthy that the “Turkish Day March” activities were held for the first time in 1981 in the United States to denounce the killing of Turkish diplomats in Western countries at the hands of the Asala terrorist organization.
