Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat expressed his expectations that the volume of bilateral trade with Germany will exceed $50 billion by the end of 2023.
This came in a press statement with German Minister of Economy and Climate Protection Robert Habeck following meetings of the Economic and Trade Partnership Committee between the two countries (JETCO) in Ankara.
Bolat explained that the high-level political relations between the two countries will have positive repercussions on trade and economic relations during the coming period.
He added that the volume of bilateral trade between Germany and Turkey last year reached $45 billion, and that their expectations for the current year are to exceed $50 billion.

Bolat stated that more than 8,000 German companies and German-Turkish companies operate in Turkey, and that the value of direct German investments in Turkey exceeded the level of 23 billion and 100 million dollars last year.
He pointed out that the protocol that was signed regarding the meetings of the Economic and Trade Partnership Committee will work to deepen bilateral relations in various fields.
In a post by the Turkish Minister on the “X” platform, Bolat said that he had a very fruitful meeting with Habeck on the topics of bilateral trade, updating the customs agreement and visa applications.
It is noteworthy that the German Minister of Economy and Climate Protection, Robert Habeck, is visiting Turkey, accompanied by representatives of the German business world, and is scheduled to return to Germany on Friday, October 27.
