Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that the gendarmerie command in Muğla and Çanakkale had arrested 19 people suspected of organizing migrant smuggling operations.
This came in a statement published by Minister Yerlikaya on his account on social media.
It indicated that the police chiefs in the provinces of Muğla and Çanakkale carried out an operation to combat organized smugglers.
Yerlikaya indicated that 19 of those involved in organizing migrant smuggling operations, including a foreigner, were arrested.
And 17 of them were arrested, and judicial control decisions were issued against two of them.
