Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has expressed his belief that the positive atmosphere that prevailed in relations between his country and Turkey will lead to an improvement in bilateral relations.
In press statements Thursday in the Kozani region, western Greece, Mitsotakis expressed his feelings of pride and pride in the participation of his country’s teams in search and rescue operations in the earthquake zones in southern Turkey.
He touched on the statements of Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu that there are possibilities for improving relations between the two countries, pointing to the possibility of resolving differences within the framework of international law.

He expressed confidence in the “emotional bonds” established by the earthquake disaster between the peoples of the two countries.
He continued, “I believe that this disaster will contribute to the improvement of Turkish-Greek relations.”
Mitsotakis affirmed that his country will continue to provide support and assistance to the earthquake victims in Turkey, stressing that Greece will do what it has to do with regard to the reconstruction of the areas destroyed by the earthquake.
It is noteworthy that Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias visited Turkey a few days ago and conducted a tour with his Turkish counterpart in some of the areas destroyed by the earthquake.
On February 6, a double earthquake struck southern Turkey and northern Syria, the first measuring 7.7 degrees and the second 7.6 degrees, and hundreds of violent aftershocks, which caused great losses in lives and property in both countries.
