Balloons flew in the famous tourist region of Cappadocia in central Turkey on Saturday, raising the country’s flag and pictures of the founder Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, to celebrate the Republic Day.

The Turkish flag and pictures of Ataturk were hung on the balloons carrying tourists in Cappadocia to celebrate the 99th anniversary of the founding of the republic.
The balloons were launched from the town of Gourama (Nuşehir state) and formed a beautiful scene in the sky above the “chimneys of fairies” and natural rock formations.
Turkey celebrates “Republic Day” on October 29 of each year, which is the anniversary of the declaration of the republic by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk in 1923.

The region is characterized by one of the most exotic and beautiful landscapes in the world and has been classified by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization “UNESCO” as a World Heritage Site.
The region is most famous for its “chimneys of fairies” or “devil tables”, which are stones in the form of columns topped with rocks that look like mushrooms and were formed naturally as a result of the influence of wind and weather factors on the volcanic rocks that abound in the region.
