Turkey freezes assets of financiers of “Al-Qaeda” and “ISIS” terrorists

Turkey announced the freezing of the assets of real and legal persons in the country, based on reasonable grounds stating that it financed the terrorist organizations “Al-Qaeda” and “ISIS”.

And according to sources in the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, its aforementioned decision entered into force with its publication on Wednesday in the Official Gazette.

The ministry indicated that real and legal persons whose properties have been frozen have been proven to have carried out activities and events that fall within the scope of the crime of “financing terrorism” stipulated in the Anti-Terrorist Financing Law.

In this context, she added, the assets of 13 real and legal persons linked to the terrorist “ISIS” were frozen.

In this context, the Ministry also froze the properties of 7 real and legal persons linked to the terrorist “Al-Qaeda”.
