Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu assured the Taliban delegation that the movement should embrace all groups of the Afghan people for the sake of the unity and safety of their country above all.

This came in a newspaper statement on Thursday, commenting on his meeting with a Taliban delegation headed by its Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi.
He stated that he presented the movement’s delegation with Turkey’s recommendations once again regarding girls’ education and ensuring the employment of women in Afghanistan.
He pointed out that the Taliban administration confirmed that it would do everything in its power to support the Afghan immigrants if they wanted to return to the country.
He said: “We once again informed the Taliban delegation of the need for them to embrace everyone for the sake of the unity and safety of their country above all.”
Çavuşoğlu indicated that he discussed with the Taliban delegation Turkish support for Afghanistan.

He added: “The Taliban delegation submitted its requests to Turkey regarding the continuation of humanitarian aid, investment, and the economy.
That is development aid, and regarding the continuation of the aid provided by its organizations until today.
He pointed out that he had received information about the latest situation in Afghanistan from the delegation, indicating that he then conveyed Turkey’s views to the Afghan side.
And he added: “We were explaining to the international community the importance of dealing with the current Taliban administration.”
Çavuşoğlu stressed the need to deliver urgent humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.

He stressed that the Turkish Red Crescent provided 33 tons of humanitarian aid from Pakistan and delivered it to Afghanistan.
He noted the importance of the resilience of the Afghan economy, pointing out that Turkey stressed the need for countries that froze Afghanistan’s accounts and funds abroad to be more flexible in order to enable the payment of salaries.
Çavuşoğlu said that the meeting also discussed combating terrorism, pointing out that ISIS is strong in Afghanistan in particular.
He said: “We saw in his recent terrorist attacks, the attack on mosques and the airport, and on the other hand, we told again today to the Taliban delegation that they must be comprehensive for the sake of the country’s unity.
We explained the importance of getting people from all ethnic and religious groups outside the Taliban into the administration.”

He pointed out that there are 14 girls’ schools supervised by the Turkish Knowledge Foundation in Afghanistan.
He added, “Today, we once again presented our recommendations regarding girls’ education and women’s empowerment, and they told us that all women working in the health sector, especially, have returned to their work.”
He stressed that he presented Turkey’s aspirations for the reopening of its consulates in the cities of Mazar-i-Sharif and Herat.
And he indicated that the Taliban delegation will meet with the heads of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency “TIKA”, the Red Crescent, the Emergency and Disaster Management Agency (AFAD), and the Presidency of Religious Affairs.

“Today, we told them once again about our aspirations and the entire international civil aviation community regarding security for the operation of airports and especially the start of regular flights,” he added.
