Types of visas in Turkey

1- Tourist visa

Visas for travel to Turkey can be issued with different conditions, and people who are planning to travel to Turkey as a tourist can apply for a tourist visa.

In order to participate in conferences, seminars, festivals, exhibitions or even participate in competitions and sports activities, you can also apply for a tourist visa.

This type of visa is issued for a period of 90 days and is only valid for one time.

That means people entering Turkey with this visa are allowed to stay in Turkey for up to 90 days and only for one entry.

During this period, these people are not entitled to work or study, and if this happens, the Turkish authorities can take certain measures or impose fines, up to canceling the person’s visa and preventing him from returning to Turkish territory.

Documents required to apply for a tourist visa to Turkey

• A passport valid for at least 6 months.

• Health insurance.

2- Work Visa

3- Student Visa

A visa is issued to students who intend to enter Turkey with the aim of studying at universities and educational institutions, or in order to participate in some training, professional and various educational courses.

Foreign students who plan to study in Turkey need a student visa.

Students must apply for a student visa upon admission to any educational institution in Turkey.

All foreign students must apply to the nearest Turkish embassy or consulate in their country to apply for a student visa.

You must apply for the visa in person, fill out the visa application form and submit it with the required documents to the Turkish Embassy.

The required documents to be submitted with the visa application form are as follows:

• A passport valid for more than 90 days.

Foreign students who have been admitted to any higher education institution in Turkey for any degree are granted a student residence permit valid for one year only.

Obtaining a Turkish visa online

The electronic visa application system (e-visa) was first implemented on April 17, 2013 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey.

This system gives permission for travelers who wish to travel to Turkey to apply for their e-Visa online via www.evisa.gov.tr.

Applicants can obtain the visa after filling in the identity and passport information and paying the visa fee online.

It should be noted that the e-Visa is valid when travel is for tourism, but for other purposes such as work and study, visas are only issued by Turkish embassies or consulates.

In addition to Visa and MasterCard, other valid credit cards can also be used, and tourist offices can also apply for an electronic visa for you.
