Turkey and Pakistan intend to produce a joint historical series that deals with the story of the Islamic leader “Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi”, the liberator of Jerusalem after 88 years of Crusader occupation.
The project is co-produced by the Turkish company Akli and the Pakistani company Ansari Shah for the production of films and series.

A statement issued on Saturday by Akli stated that its owner, producer Imra Konuk, had received an offer from the Pakistani company, “Ansari Shah” Films, about filming the historical series that deals with the story of “Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi.”
He explained that the two companies reached an agreement after two days of negotiations in the Serbian capital, Belgrade.
The statement indicated that the series will be filmed in Turkey, and is planned to consist of three parts.
Participated from the Pakistani side d. Kashif Ansari, Dr. Syed Junaid Ali Shah, actor Adnan Siddiqui, and Turkish Emra Konuk are in the negotiations for the series project.
The statement quoted producer Emre Konuk as saying that the TV series will feature actors from Turkey and Pakistan.
He pointed out that the project is a great gain for Turkey in the cultural and economic fields.

He added, “We realize the difficulty of embodying a great person like Salah El-Din Al-Ayyubi who left his mark in history, but we are also very happy to realize this project.”
And he added, “We will prepare a project that all TV and cinema platforms are eagerly awaiting. I hope it will be useful to the entire Islamic world.”
The statement did not mention other details about the project, and on October 2, 1187, Muslims led by Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi were able to liberate the city of Jerusalem after 88 years of Crusader occupation.
