28 foreigners arrested in Ankara with links to ISIS

On Thursday, the Turkish authorities arrested 28 of the 33 foreigners suspected of belonging to the terrorist organization “ISIS” in the capital, Ankara.

This came in a security operation of the anti-terror units of the Ankara Security Directorate, after monitoring and tracking.

It was reported, quoting security sources, that the Ankara Police Command had obtained information about the presence of 33 foreigners in contact with ISIS elements.

The sources added that the suspects were believed to have been preparing to carry out terrorist operations and attacks on the founding day of the Turkish Republic, corresponding to October 29 of each year.

The security forces raided the suspects’ whereabouts and arrested 28 out of 33 people, and anti-terror teams continue to investigate the suspects.
