With more than 8 billion.. a record number in Turkish textile exports

Turkey recorded a record number of exports of the textile sector and its raw materials, which amounted to 8 billion and 720 million dollars in the first 10 months of this year.

According to the data of the Turkish Exporters Council, the sector recorded an increase of 5.4 percent compared to the same period last year.

Istanbul’s largest share in the sector’s exports in October was with 361 million dollars, followed by Gaziantep with 137 million dollars, followed by Bursa with 107 million dollars.

The largest destination for textile and raw materials exports in the first ten months was Italy, with $71 million, then Belarus, with $53 million, and Germany, with $41 million.

As for Turkey’s total exports in October, they increased by 2.8 percent compared to the same month last year, reaching $21.3 billion, achieving a record when looking at the tenth month’s exports in previous years.

Total exports between January and October increased by 15.4 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching $209.5 billion.
