On Wednesday, the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the European Union, Josep Borrell, said that he phoned Sudan’s Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok and confirmed his support for the return to the civilian-led transitional authority.

Borrell said in a tweet on Twitter: “I called Hamdok and assured him of my support for returning to the transitional authority led by civilians as the only way forward.”
He added that “anything else (other than returning to the transitional authority) is a betrayal of the aspirations of the people who led the revolution two years ago.”
