Turkish Parliament Speaker visits Budapest Martyrs’ Cemetery

Turkish Parliament Speaker Mustafa Şentop visited the cemetery of Turkish martyrs in the Hungarian capital Budapest.

Şentop laid a wreath at the memorial to the martyrs of the Galicia Front in World War I in Budapest.

He added that Şentop stood for a minute of silence in honor of the souls of the Turkish martyrs, then the Turkish and Hungarian national anthems were played, after which Şentop placed carnations and roses on the graves of the soldiers and signed the visitors’ book to the cemetery.

Şentop was accompanied by the Chairman of the Parliamentary Friendship Group between Hungary and Turkey Atilla Telki, the Turkish Ambassador to Budapest Gulçen Karanis Akcioglu, the Hungarian Ambassador in Ankara Viktor Matisse, the AKP deputy for Koca State Eli Cemil Yaman, the Republican People’s Party deputy for the state of Nigde Omer Fathi Guler and the deputy of the Movement Party Nationalism about Istanbul Hayati Arkaz and the deputy of the Turkish Ay Party for the state of Mersin, Behç Celik.

Earlier on Wednesday, Turkish Parliament Speaker Mustafa Şentop arrived in the Hungarian capital Budapest on an official visit.
