On Wednesday, Turkish Parliament Speaker Mustafa Şentop congratulated Ukraine on its independence day.
This came in a congratulatory message sent by Şentop to his Ukrainian counterpart, Ruslan Stefanchuk, on the occasion of Independence Day.
“Our relations with Ukraine, with which we have common historical and cultural ties, continue to strengthen,” Şentop said in his message.
He stressed the importance of parliamentary cooperation giving relations momentum during the current stage.
“Turkey will continue to support Ukraine’s political unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity in all forums,” he added.
On August 24, Ukraine celebrated its independence from the Soviet Union in 1991.
