Turkish Minister: Our contractors’ projects have exceeded $29 billion

Turkish Trade Minister Mehmet Muş said that the value of contracting projects led by Turkish companies in the world increased from $15.2 billion in 2020 to $29.3 billion in 2021.

This came in a speech during his participation on Tuesday in an evaluation program organized by the Turkish Contractors Association on external contracting services and technical consultancy for the year 2021 in the capital, Ankara.

Muş emphasized that the construction sector in Turkey has become one of the leading and active sectors in the world since the seventies of the last century.

He added that despite the effects of the Corona pandemic, the sector witnessed a significant recovery in 2021.

He pointed out that the value of contracting projects led by Turkish companies around the world rose from $15.2 billion in 2020 to $29.3 billion in 2021.

He stated that Turkish contractors in 131 countries have implemented 11,093 projects with a total value of $451.5 billion.

Pointing out that the Turkish contracting sector occupies a strong position in the Middle East, North Africa and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

Mosch said that 55 percent of projects in 2021 were implemented in the Commonwealth of Independent States, 17 percent in sub-Saharan Africa, 13 percent in the Middle East and 10 percent in Europe.
