In a tweet on his Twitter account, the minister called on the Turkish people to be reassured and not to worry about the virus.

He pointed out that the virus, which comes from animals and rarely infects humans, cannot turn into a pandemic.

He continued, “We have not recorded in our country any infection with this virus, which appeared in Africa.”

Recently, several Western countries recorded “monkeypox” cases, including 23 cases in Spain and 20 in Portugal. Individual cases were also recorded in Britain, the United States of America and Canada, as well as an infection in Israel.
