Turkish Defense: 3 terrorists neutralized in northern Iraq and Syria

On Sunday, the Turkish Ministry of Defense announced the neutralization of 3 terrorists in northern Iraq and Syria.

The ministry said in a statement that the Turkish Armed Forces continue to fight terrorism with determination.

And it explained that its forces were able to neutralize two terrorists from the “PKK” organization in the “Claw of Lightning” operation in northern Iraq, and a terrorist from the “YPG/PKK” organization in the “Peace Spring” operation in northern Syria.

On April 23, 2021, Turkey launched operations “Claw of Lightning” and “Claw of Thunderbolt”, simultaneously against PKK terrorists in the areas of “Matina” and “Avashin-Basian” in northern Iraq.

On October 9, 2019, the Turkish army, with the participation of the Syrian National Army, launched Operation Peace Spring east of the Euphrates River in northern Syria.

To cleanse it of YPG/PKK and ISIS terrorists, and to establish a safe area for the return of Syrian refugees to their country.

Turkey managed to liberate the cities of Tal Abyad and Ras al-Ain from terrorists during the operation.

Which was suspended by the Turkish army on the 17th of the same month after Ankara and Washington reached an agreement stipulating the withdrawal of terrorists from the region, followed by a similar agreement with Russia on the 22nd of the same month.
