Turkish Ambassador to Baku Cahit Yagci affirmed his country’s continued support for Azerbaijan in the reconstruction of the Karabakh region, as well as during its liberation from Armenia.
Speaking during his visit to Baku, Yagci said that Turkey shares with Azerbaijan its experience in the public and private sectors and in institutional work.

He explained that Turkey is doing its best to provide support to Azerbaijan regarding the reconstruction of Karabakh.
He referred to the preparation of the “Karabakh Action Plan” and “Agricultural Action Plan” projects in the region with the support of Turkey.
He stated that 12 Turkish companies also contributed to the construction of Fuzuli Airport, which was recently opened.
He continued, “Turkish companies are also undertaking projects to build the land road and railway in the Zanzigzor Pass.”
The aforementioned corridor provides a new link between Turkey and Azerbaijan, as it crosses the territory of the Armenian province of Zanzjor, which separates the mainland of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani Nakhchivan Autonomous Region bordering Turkey.

After fierce battles that lasted 44 days, Russia announced on November 10, 2020, that Azerbaijan and Armenia reached a ceasefire agreement, providing for the restoration of Baku’s control over the occupied provinces.
