The Turkish Red Crescent Society and the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Association (AFAD) sent humanitarian aid to those affected by torrential rains in 4 Afghan provinces in coordination with the Turkish Embassy in Kabul.

The head of the international humanitarian aid group in “AFAD” Burhan Aslan said that AFAD and the Red Crescent have sent food aid and blankets to be distributed to 1,700 families affected by the floods.
He added that the aid will be distributed to 500 families in Samangan, Baghlan and Faryab, and 200 families in Pervan.
He added that the aid parcels include oil, flour, sugar, tomato paste, pasta and blankets, pointing out that it is expected that they will reach the mentioned states and be distributed to the affected people within a short period.

At least 22 people were killed and 18 others were injured as a result of massive floods that swept 12 provinces across Afghanistan.
