Turkey on Tuesday offered its condolences to Haiti for the victims of a petrol tanker explosion in the northern city of Cap-Haitien.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement that it had received with deep sadness the death of many citizens due to the explosion of the tanker.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry expressed its condolences to the families of the victims and to the people and government of Haiti, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.
Earlier in the day, a gasoline tank exploded in the city of Cap-Haitien, northern Haiti, killing 60 people, and wounding dozens so far.

In turn, Haitian Prime Minister Ariel Henry declared 3 days of national mourning following the explosion “in memory of the victims of this tragedy that afflicted the entire Haitian people.”
