On Tuesday, the Turkish Interior Ministry announced the launch of Operation AREN Winter-16 against the PKK terrorist organization in the eastern province of Bingol.
The ministry said in a statement that 960 security personnel are participating in the operation, and that it aims to root out terrorist elements and enhance the security environment in the state.

It is worth noting that the Ministry of Interior launched a series of “ARN” operations after the “Thunderbolt” operations ended on January 10, 2021.
The Ministry of the Interior named these operations “Arn” after the Turkish young man, “Arn Bulbul”, who was martyred at the hands of PKK terrorists on August 11, 2017.
