The consumer price index “inflation” in Turkey last May reached 2.98 percent on a monthly basis, reaching 73.50 percent on an annual basis.

This came in data published by the Turkish Statistics Authority on Friday, indicating an increase in the producer price index during May.

And by 8.76 percent on a monthly basis, while it amounted to 132.16 percent on an annual basis.

The consumer price index rose 39.33 percent, and producer prices 80.38 percent, compared to the rates of the last 12 months.

The consumer price index measures the changes that occur in the general level of prices based on tracking a basket that includes all goods and services consumed within a particular country.
