“TOGG” is the leader in the electric car market in the first half

The Turkish company “TOGG” ranked first in the brand rankings in the electric car market in Turkey, with sales of 13,021 cars and a market share of 36.53 percent in the first half of the year.

According to data from the Automobile Dealers Association (ODMD) on Thursday, the number of sales of “fully electric” cars increased by 223.1 percent in the first six months of 2024, reaching 35,636 cars.

TOGG, which continues to increase its sales among electric car brands, maintained its market leadership in the first half of the year.

With sales amounting to 13,021 cars in the first six months of 2024, “TOGG” outperformed its closest competitor by 9,213 cars.

BMW ranked second in sales with 3,808 cars, and Tesla ranked third with 3,820 cars.

TOGG was established on June 25, 2018, under the auspices of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

TOGG laid the foundation stone for its first technology complex in July 2020, before opening it on October 29 of the same year, coinciding with Republic Day, with the participation of President Erdogan, as the company celebrated the production of its first “C SUV” car.

Turkey owns 100 percent of the intellectual and industrial rights to the car, through which it seeks to create a global brand and form the nucleus of an integrated Turkish transportation system.
