Turkish doctor Taner Kamaji, who volunteers in the Palestinian Gaza Strip, confirmed that there is an urgent need for medical personnel and equipment in Gaza’s hospitals.

Kamaji explained that he had been to the Gaza Strip since March 18 as a volunteer doctor.

He indicated that he entered Gaza from the Rafah border gate in Egypt with a team of 25 people.

He pointed out that the medical team entered the Gaza Strip through the Jordanian Al-Rahma Society and the European-Palestinian Medical Association.

Kamaji, who specializes in pediatric surgery, added that the hospital where he works receives hundreds of injured people daily as a result of Israeli bombing.

He continued: “Currently, surgical operations are not performed in Gaza’s hospitals except for the very necessary. There is an urgent need to provide the Strip with medical personnel and equipment.”

Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli army has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip, leaving tens of thousands of civilian casualties, most of them children and women. Massive infrastructure destruction and a humanitarian catastrophe led to Israel being brought before the International Court of Justice on charges of committing “genocide.”
