The World Health Organization warned on Thursday of a shortage of water, sanitation, and hygiene products amid overcrowding at the Emirates Crescent Maternity Hospital in the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.
This came in a post accompanied by a video clip regarding the conditions inside the Emirati Crescent Maternity Hospital in Rafah, and the United Nations published it on its account via the “X” platform.
The World Health Organization said, “The reality is stark, and the overcrowded hospital is struggling to provide adequate care for newborns and mothers.”
She stressed that “the hospital suffers from a lack of water, sanitation facilities, and hygiene products, which may threaten the lives of newborns.”
Yesterday, Wednesday, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned of the consequences of any Israeli action on the city of Rafah.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip, leaving tens of thousands of civilian casualties, most of them children and women.
In addition to the unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe and massive destruction of infrastructure, which led to Tel Aviv appearing before the International Court of Justice to be tried on charges of genocide.
