The Turkish Coast Guard will seize 44,000 irregular migrants in 2022

Turkish Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu announced that the Coast Guard seized 44,000 immigrants during the past year 2022.

This came in a speech during the “2022 Coast Guard Leaders’ Meeting” held at the Coast Guard Command in the capital, Ankara, on Thursday.

Soylu added that the Coast Guard teams seized 44,000 irregular immigrants during the year 2022.

He indicated that the teams also seized 126 terrorists, including 117 belonging to the “Fülen” organization, 3 to “ISIS” and 6 to “PKK” while they were trying to infiltrate out of the country by sea.

He revealed that the teams saved 29,000 people from drowning during the 11 months of last year.

The minister stated that the Turkish Coast Guard teams seized 23,676 irregular immigrants in 2021.
