US Defense Department spokesman John Kirby announced that the evacuation of the US military in Afghanistan will not end within 36 hours.

A CNN correspondent in Qatar said 150 US citizens and 1,800 local staff working at the US Embassy in Kabul were still waiting to be transferred to Kabul Hamid Karzai International Airport.
And prompted the reporter’s statement that the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) to end the evacuations within 36 hours.
“The evacuations in Kabul will not end in 36 hours, we will continue to evacuate as many people as possible until the end of the mission,” Pentagon spokesman Kirby said on his Twitter account.
US President Joe Biden also announced that the mission of US forces in Afghanistan will end on August 31.
