The United Nations World Food Program announced on Tuesday the arrival of 18,000 tons of rice to the southern Yemeni city of Aden, provided by South Korea.
The program said in a tweet via Twitter: “18,000 metric tons of rice from South Korea has arrived at the port of Aden… We will distribute rice to vulnerable families in Yemen.”

He continued, “Food aid is the first line of defense against increasing hunger in Yemen,” without further details.
In December 2020, a joint report by UNICEF and the United Nations Agriculture Organization (FAO) said.
According to the report, the number of Yemenis living in the fourth stage of food insecurity will reach 5 million by mid-2021.
For nearly 7 years, Yemen has been witnessing a war that has claimed the lives of 233,000 people.
And 80 percent of the population of about 30 million people depend on aid to survive in the world’s worst humanitarian crisis, according to the United Nations.
