Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the natural gas infrastructure in Turkey has great potential, pointing to the possibility of establishing an electronic platform for trade in it.

Putin said in a speech Thursday that the natural gas infrastructure in Turkey has great potential and that it is possible to establish an electronic platform for trade in the natural gas center to be built in Turkey.

He added that the prices of gas sent to Europe will mostly be determined by the center to be established in Turkey.

Putin indicated that the Europeans are now trying to show Russia that it is guilty of what they have done.

He stated that the “unprecedented” Western sanctions against Moscow were aimed at destroying the Russian economy by stealing the country’s foreign reserves, devaluing the ruble and causing devastating inflation.

On Saturday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that his government is preparing to establish an advanced international market for natural gas in the country.

Erdogan indicated that steps were taken to qualify Turkey to be a center for natural gas, expressing his country’s readiness to establish any kind of cooperation with other parties in order to build new pipelines for natural gas and liquefied natural gas.
