President Erdogan receives Anadolu Efes Basketball Team


Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan welcomed the Turkish team Anadolu Efes after winning the European League for the second year in a row.


The reception took place at the Presidential Complex in the capital, Ankara, on Wednesday, and was also attended by Minister of Youth and Sports Mehmet Muharrem Kasaboglu.

The Turkish team’s delegation included the players, the coach and the club’s president.

The club’s president, Tuncay Oz Ilhan, and the team’s coach, Ergen Ataman, presented a gift to President Erdogan during the meeting.

And on Saturday, Anatolia Efes won the European Basketball League after beating Real Madrid 58-57 in the final of the quarter-finals (Golden Square).


Anatolia Efes maintained its title, which it won last year, by winning the European Basketball Championship for the first time in its history, by defeating Spanish rival Barcelona in the final, 86-81, on May 30, 2021.
