Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan asserted that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu was never a friend of his country, and he will never be.
This came in a speech he delivered during a meeting with Turkish youth in the presidential compound in Ankara, in response to the statements of the leader of the Turkish opposition EE party, Miral Akschner.

Erdogan said: “Netanyahu was never a friend of ours, nor will he be, and we will continue our way in the struggle against him as we have done until today.”
He added, “I had an incident with the Israeli president (Shimon Peres) at the Davos conference, and the whole world knows my response to him at the time.”
