On Thursday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called on the political parties in his country to support the drafting of a new civil constitution.
This came in a speech he delivered during a meeting of the “Justice and Development” party on the island of democracy and freedoms in front of Istanbul.

Erdogan said, “I hope that all parties in Parliament will provide constructive and effective support for the efforts to formulate a new civil constitution.”
He added, “It is very good for parliament to approve the new draft constitution in preparation for submitting it to the Turkish people for evaluation.”
