The Palestinian ambassador to Ankara, Faid Mustafa, said that political parties in Israel resort to Islamophobia to succeed in the elections.

This came during a speech he gave on Tuesday during the second session of the “First International Symposium on Media and Islamophobia” in the capital, Ankara.

Mustafa indicated that there is a link between what Palestine is witnessing and the topic of the symposium.

He stated that Islamophobia is the hatred of Islam and the practice of racism against Muslims, pointing out that Israel and its affiliated parties have the same hatred and racism.

The Palestinian ambassador emphasized that Israel seeks to deepen the rift between the Islamic world and the West.

He explained that the Western world creates the impression that Israel is part of it and Islam is the common enemy.

He pointed to the anti-Islam trend in the political advertising of the parties participating in the elections in Israel.

He added, “They are trying to portray Islam as a great danger and threat, and in this way they are trying to achieve success in the elections.”

He stated that Islamophobia does not include physical violence only, but also moral violence, as happened in the attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Mustafa thanked Turkey for the support it provides to Palestine.
