The Turkish Petroleum Corporation announced the discovery of oil in the Günyurt-1 well on the Turkish-Syrian border with the start of oil production tests at 11.8 gravity.

The Günyurt-1 well is located in the Mardin region, 3.5 km from the border. Drilling work continued in the region for 35 days, to reach oil at a depth of 1,310 meters.
During oil exploration studies, oil was discovered in 3 wells in Diyarbakir and Kırklareli in May.
