Liverpool players led by captain Jordan Henderson issued an official statement on Tuesday, announcing their collective rejection of the European Super League competition or the club’s participation in it.

The “Reds” players refused to launch the European Super League, and came after reactions by the club’s fans to the competition separate from the UEFA umbrella.
Twelve major European clubs, including Liverpool, had announced the launch of an independent tournament under the name of the European Super League, “Super League”.
This was rejected by both the European and International Football Associations, or at the level of the masses.
