The Turkish-African Media Summit, which is organized by the Communications Department of the Turkish Presidency, kicked off in Istanbul on Wednesday.

The summit coincides with Africa Day, corresponding to May 25 of each year, and kicked off in a hotel with an opening speech by the head of the Communications Department, Fakhr El-Din Altoun.
The summit will be attended by 80 journalists from 45 African countries, African diplomats, officials from official and private institutions, civic organizations, and academics from Turkey and Africa.
The summit aims to enhance cooperation between Turkish and African journalists, share experiences and refine the existing partnership between the two sides.
The summit will witness holding sessions to discuss topics related to journalistic work, foremost of which are the challenges facing the press in the post-Coronavirus era.
