Istanbul International Airport ranked first in offering the best direct connectivity among European airports, according to the 2023 Air Connectivity Trends report issued by the European Airports Council International (ACI Europe).
On Thursday, the CEO of the company operating Istanbul Airport, Kadri Samsunlu, shared the results of the report through his account on a social media site.
Samsunlu stated that Istanbul Airport, which ranked fifth among the “best airports with direct connections” in 2019, jumped to first place for this category in 2023.

He added that Istanbul Airport, which ranked sixth among airports offering “the best international transport connection” in 2019, rose to second place for this category in 2023, and stated that Turkish Airlines contributed greatly to this success.
And he added, “The great growth of Turkish Airlines is the main reason for this success, in addition to that, the new airlines that started flying to Istanbul also contribute to our success as well.”
