Turkey’s exports from the free zones reached the level of $50 billion during the period between 2019 and 2023.
According to data from the Turkish Ministry of Trade, 2,108 companies will be active in 19 free zones throughout Turkey by the end of 2023.
While the number of Turkish companies in the country’s free zones reached 1,563 companies, the number of their foreign counterparts reached 545 companies.
Turkish free zones recorded export revenues to other countries worth $8 billion during 2019.
The number rose to $12.7 billion by the end of 2023.
During the last 5 years, the total exports of Turkish free zones exceeded 49.6 billion dollars.
The European Union countries topped the list of countries importing the most from the Turkish free zones with $6 billion, followed by Asian countries with $3.4 billion.
