EU agricultural production is lower compared to the previous year

Agricultural production in the European Union fell by 1.1% in 2020 to 414.1 billion euros.

The European Statistical Office (Eurostat) published data on agricultural production for the European Union for the year 2020.

Accordingly, the total agricultural production of the 27 member states of the European Union decreased by 1.1% in 2020 compared to the previous year and fell to 414.1 billion euros.

France also ranked first in agricultural production among EU member states last year.

In the cited period, France produced 76.3 billion euros, Germany 57.6 billion euros, and Italy 56.9 billion euros.

Spain 52.3 billion euros, the Netherlands 28.2 billion euros, and Poland 26.4 billion euros.

Thus in 2020, about 18.4 percent of agricultural production was in France, and 13.9 percent in Germany.

13.7 percent in Italy, 12.6 percent in Spain, 6.8 percent in the Netherlands, and 6.4 percent in Poland.

On the other hand, the total agricultural production of the 11 EU member states decreased in 2020.

The highest declines in agricultural production were identified in Romania at 11.3 percent, Malta and Bulgaria at 4.5 percent, Finland at 3.9 percent, and the Netherlands and Hungary at 3.1 percent.

The mentioned decline was measured as 2.3 percent in Italy, 1.9 percent in France, and 1.6 percent in Germany.
