Erdogan: We are determined to increase economic growth

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed that his government is determined to increase economic growth through investment, employment, production, export and current surplus.

This came during his meeting on Wednesday with the President of the Turkish Federation of Chambers and Stock Exchanges, Rifat Hisarjaklioglu, and his accompanying delegation at the presidential complex in the capital, Ankara.

Erdogan expressed his pleasure at the great participation in the Technovest Aviation Technology Festival in the capital, Ankara, noting that he will visit the festival next Friday.

He pointed out that the crises and difficulties witnessed by the global economy have different repercussions on Turkey as well, saying: “We are aware of the problems faced by all segments of society, especially business circles, as we are taking and will take steps to solve them.”

He added: “Preparations for the medium-term (economic) program are nearing completion, as it will serve as a roadmap for the coming period and we hope to announce it soon.”

He expressed his hope that the market would regain its balance thanks to the measures they took.

He added: “Our priority in the economy has not changed today as it was yesterday, and we are determined to increase economic growth through investment, employment, production, export and current surplus, and protecting and developing the work and livelihood of our citizens is our top priority in this period.”
