Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan thanked his Georgian counterpart Salome Zurabishvili for her solidarity with his country in fighting forest fires.
The Turkish Presidency’s Communication Department said in a statement on Tuesday that Erdogan and Zurabishvili discussed bilateral relations and regional issues by phone.

During the call, Zurabishvili wished safety for Turkey against the backdrop of forest fires.
In turn, Erdogan thanked his Georgian counterpart for its solidarity with Turkey in fighting forest fires.
He also emphasized that Turkey and Georgia could work on joint energy and transport projects by taking advantage of new opportunities in the region.
