On Thursday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called on the international community, especially the United Nations, to raise its voice more against the Israeli occupation policies in Palestine.

This came in a video message he addressed to the Summit on the Future, which is being organized under the auspices of the United Nations in New York, USA.

He said in this regard: “The voice of the international community, especially the United Nations, must be louder against the Israeli occupation policies.”

Erdogan explained that Turkey will continue to stand against injustice and on the side of the oppressed and will not back down from this humanitarian position.

The Turkish president added: “I say it frankly, none of us can feel safe in a world where children die under bombs.”

He stated that the summit aims to strengthen international solidarity against threats that affect the future of humanity, and pave the way for building a peaceful, secure and just system.

He continued: “In order to build a safe and prosperous future, we need peace first. Challenges such as terrorism, Islamophobia, xenophobia, irregular migration and climate change exacerbate geopolitical shocks.”

He added: “The most painful example of this is what we see in the occupied Palestinian territories, especially in Gaza. For 11 months, we have been facing events in which more than 41,000 people have lost their lives, including 17,000 children, more than 100,000 have been injured, and almost all of Gaza has been destroyed.”

President Erdogan stressed the need to protect the democratic system from waves of racism and far-right movements.

He stressed the need to ensure a just global governance system, in which representation is not limited to countries that have achieved a certain level of prosperity, but also includes societies that continue their development efforts.

Erdogan added that in order to build a better future, we must move to a system that focuses on green transformation, supports sustainable development, and leaves no one behind.

He continued: “What we need to achieve all these goals is to reshape the multilateral system based on justice and fairness, focusing on the slogan of the world is bigger than five.”
