Erdogan arrives in Istanbul from Kazakhstan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Istanbul on Thursday evening, returning from the Kazakh capital, Astana.

The plane “TC TUR” carrying Erdogan and his accompanying delegation landed at Ataturk Airport at 19:50 local time (3 GMT).

The President was received by Vice President Fuat Oktay, the Governor of Istanbul Ali Yerlikaya, the head of the Justice and Development Party’s branch in Istanbul, Osman Nuri Kabaktepe, and other officials.

The Turkish president was accompanied during the visit by his wife, Mrs. Emine Erdogan, Foreign Ministers Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Agriculture and Forestry, Vahid Kirishci, Trade Mehmet Muş, Transport and Infrastructure, Adil Kara Ismailoglu.

He was also accompanied by the head of the communications department in the presidency, Fakhruddin Altun, the presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalin, the deputy head of the Justice and Development Party Bin Ali Yildirim, the party’s spokesman Omar Celik and the head of the Presidency of Defense Industries Ismail Demir.

Erdogan held a series of meetings in Astana on the sidelines of his participation in the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (SICA) Thursday.
