The head of the Croatian Islamic Union, Aziz Hasanovic, praised the important position that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan enjoys in the Islamic nation.

Hasanovic presented the “Founder of the Croatian Islamic Federation Honor Award” to President Erdogan Thursday during his participation in the opening of the Islamic Cultural Center in Sisak.
In a speech during the opening, he pointed out that Erdogan is one of the important figures in the Islamic nation.
He said, “We are proud that we have a door that we can knock on. The Croatian Islamic Union presents a special award to brother and friend Erdogan.”
He explained that the federation granted this award to only two personalities (he did not mention them by name) throughout its 106-year history, and that Erdogan became the third person.

Hasanovic affirmed that he became “the happiest person in the world” for standing by Erdogan and continued, “From now on, this center will be remembered in the name of Recep Tayyip Erdogan.”
Earlier on Thursday, Erdogan and his Croatian counterpart Zoran Milanovic participated in the opening of the “Recep Tayyip Erdogan Center for Islamic Culture” in Sisak.
In his speech during the opening, Erdogan said that the center will be one of the main venues for meetings and gatherings in the city, and that followers of other religions will also spend an enjoyable time in it.

He explained that the center is one of the most important examples of the close cooperation that exists between Turkey and Croatia, and he thanked the Croatian authorities for naming the center his name.
