On Friday, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu met his Turkmen counterpart Rashid Meredov in the capital, Ashgabat.

Çavuşoğlu said in a tweet via Twitter that he began his visit to Turkmenistan by meeting his counterpart Meredov in the capital, Ashgabat.
He added that they discussed the upcoming visit of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday and the preparations for the summit of the heads of the Economic Cooperation Organization.
Earlier on Friday, the Turkish Presidency Communication Department said in a statement that Erdogan will travel to Turkmenistan.

This is in response to the invitation of his counterpart Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, and to participate in the 15th edition of the summit of the heads of the Economic Cooperation Organization.
