Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday received Malaysian Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaqoub with an official ceremony at the Presidential Complex in the capital, Ankara.

The reception ceremony began with the playing of the national anthems of both countries and salutations on the podium, and then each leader presented his country’s delegation to the other.
During the reception ceremony, Turkish artillery fired 21 rounds in honor of the Malaysian guest.
After taking memorial photos, Erdogan and Yaqoub went to the presidential compound hall to start their bilateral meeting, and then the two countries’ delegations.
It is expected that Erdogan and the Malaysian Prime Minister will participate in the signing ceremony of a number of agreements, before holding a joint press conference.

Besides Erdogan, the reception ceremony was attended by Ministers of Defense Hulusi Akar, Minister of Commerce Mehmet Muş, and Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank.
The Turkish side also included the President’s Administrative Affairs Chief Metin Keratli, Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun, Presidential Spokesman Ibrahim Kalin, and Ankara Governor Vasip Sahin.
